Still in the Hunt for State Title

Beckman Catholic is still in the hunt for their 3rd consecutive state championship with a 6-3 win over Hinton, in the Iowa Class 2A state quarterfinals at Principal Park in Des Moines. The two-time defending state champs will face Van Meter in the semifinals on Thursday at 8 p.m.

The Trailblazers didn’t play up to their full potential, but Coach Tom Jenk Jr. is still happy with the victory. “We are two games away from our goal. You know it’s a sign of a good baseball team when they don’t play their best, but still come out ahead with the win,” said Jenk.
